Instruments and Guitars
The Guitar is a stringed instrument played with the fingers or fingernails. Guitarists use the guitar to form melodies and chords, which are two of the most basic elements of a song. Guitarists can also play a variety of different types of music on their guitars, from classical to jazz, blues, rock 'n' roll, punk rock and country.
Instruments come in all shapes and sizes - they range from simple woodwind instruments like clarinets to complex orchestral instruments such as cellos. In general terms you could say that an instrument produces sound when someone plays it (by pressing keys or blowing air through valves for example).
